Meet Dr. Danielle Powers…

A Human-Centered Approach to Empowerment, Insight, and Growth

Dr. Powers approaches therapy with the belief that healing begins with connection, to others and to ourselves. She brings warmth, curiosity, and nonjudgment to her work with adults navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and relationship challenges. Many of her clients are working professionals, caregivers, veterans, or individuals in law enforcement who seek support in managing stress, setting boundaries, or feeling more emotionally grounded.

With a deep respect for each person’s lived experience, Dr. Powers sees therapy as a space where clients can pause, explore, and make sense of the emotions and patterns that may be holding them back. She works to foster a therapeutic environment rooted in safety and collaboration, one where clients can reconnect with their strengths, clarify their goals, and move forward with greater self-trust.

Integrative, Evidence-Based Care That Honors Your Story

Dr. Powers tailors each therapeutic experience to the unique needs and goals of her clients. Her integrative approach draws from a wide range of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. She is also trained in experiential and somatic therapies such as Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Brainspotting, a powerful, brain-body technique used in trauma recovery and emotional processing.

Whether she is helping someone navigate anxiety, process grief, or reestablish a sense of agency after trauma, Dr. Powers focuses on what feels meaningful and sustainable for each individual. She partners with her clients to identify practical tools and deeper insight, always with the goal of helping them move through life’s challenges with more clarity, connection, and resilience.

Dr. Danielle Powers brings specialized expertise in third-party reproduction, with advanced training in conducting fertility psychological evaluations and providing therapeutic support for surrogates, egg donors, and intended parents. She has completed training in fertility and reproductive mental health in accordance with the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) guidelines and is committed to upholding the highest standards of clinical care in this area.

At Thrive, all psychologists who conduct fertility evaluations receive specialized training and supervision to ensure consistency, ASRM compliance, and clinical excellence. Fertility clinics and agencies trust Thrive’s team of Clinical Psychologists to provide thorough, compassionate, and ethically sound assessments that support safe, successful family-building journeys.

Dr. Powers offers invaluable support to individuals and couples exploring alternative family planning paths, including surrogacy and donor conception. Her dedication to this work reflects her deep commitment to helping clients build and grow their families with empathy, expertise, and integrity.

Compassionate Therapy for the Realities of Life

Dr. Powers believes that therapy should be a space where clients feel seen and heard in their full humanity, not just as a collection of symptoms or problems to be solved. She honors the complexity of her clients’ stories and embraces the messiness of real life in the therapeutic process.

Rather than imposing change, she seeks to evoke it by helping clients access their inner wisdom, explore values-based living, and identify what’s within their control. Her work is especially attuned to those who feel overlooked, misunderstood, or burdened by high expectations. She brings authenticity, humor, and cultural humility into each session, creating space for people to show up as they are and take meaningful steps toward change.

Dr. Powers brings a lifelong curiosity and openness to learning from her clients’ lived experiences. She stays current on best practices related to identity, systemic oppression, and inclusive care, and she works to ensure that all clients feel respected, validated, and empowered in their therapeutic journey.
